With a sound that ranges from dirty grunge to stripped-down and lonesome, Jameson Monarch’s take on Western rock reflects the honest grit of back country roads. Lead singer Stephen Scott evinces the storyteller style of Townes Van Zandt with rich baritone vocals, and the band delivers outlaw country with as much power as finesse. Jameson Monarch's music is, at its core, the small town story of love, loss, and consequence.
With their first album to be released this Spring, the band is primed to become the new favourite of any fan of rock, roots, country and blues.
Stories From A Small City
Having honed his craft performing solo and in collaborations for over a decade, Stephen James Scott, now performing as Jameson Monarch, released “Stories From A Small City” in November, 2021. The EP features a full band, and while his guitar and vocals remain centre stage, the tracks are tastefully fleshed out with violin and steel guitar, minimalist drums, and on occasion feature his lonesome harmonica.
